Mahadevananda Mahavidyalaya is a 55+ years old institution with rich heritage and a long tradition of academic excellence.

Founded by Late Swami Jyotirmoyananda Giri Maharaj, the College is committed to spreading quality higher education and value-based learning among the youth of North 24 Parganas.

The College is proudly accredited by NAAC at Grade 'A', a testament to its sustained commitment to academic and institutional quality.

The College offers UG courses across Science, Commerce and Humanities and PG Course in Bengali, nurturing students to become well-rounded, responsible citizens.

A co-educational day College, originally affiliated to the University of Calcutta, founded on the auspicious day of Janmashtami and Independence Day, the 15th of August, 1968.

Founded by Late Swami Jyotirmoyananda Giri Maharaj in memory of his preceptor, our institution is proudly accredited by NAAC at Grade 'A'. Our vision continues to spread excellence in education among the youth of North 24 Parganas.

Scholarship

Eligible students can avail national and state government scholarships including NSP (National Scholarship Portal), WB Oasis Scholarship, Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, Post-Matric SC/ST/OBC scholarships and Minority scholarships. The college office facilitates the online application process.

Anti-Ragging

Mahadevananda Mahavidyalaya is firmly committed to maintaining a ragging-free campus in compliance with UGC regulations and Hon'ble Supreme Court directives. An Anti-Ragging Committee is constituted every year. Newly admitted Semester-I students must submit a signed declaration from both student and parent/guardian at the time of university registration.

Value Added Courses

The college offers UGC-mandated Value Added Courses (VAC) and skill-based short-term certificate programmes to enhance students' employability and holistic development beyond the regular curriculum. These include courses in computer applications, communication skills, yoga, environmental awareness and more.

SC / ST & Minority Cell

The SC/ST & Minority Cell at Mahadevananda Mahavidyalaya works to ensure equal educational opportunities for students from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Minority communities. The cell assists students in scholarship applications, grievance redressal and provides a supportive environment for academic progress. It operates in compliance with UGC guidelines and Government of West Bengal directives.

Gender Sensitisation Cell

The Gender Sensitisation Cell promotes a safe, inclusive and equitable campus environment for all students and staff. The cell organises awareness programmes, seminars and workshops on gender equality, prevention of sexual harassment (POSH Act) and women's rights. It operates in accordance with the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women) Regulations and maintains an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).
