Department Details

Sanskrit is an ancient and classical language of India and the origin of most Indian languages. Sanskrit literature encompasses poetry, drama, and a rich body of scientific, technical, philosophical, and religious texts. We, as part of the Department of Sanskrit, feel proud to study, practise, and popularize such an ancient and sublime linguistic and literary tradition.

The Department of Sanskrit is one of the oldest departments in Mahadevananda Mahavidyalaya. It offers a three-year UG General CBCS course and provides students with the latest developments in Sanskrit knowledge. The Department also regularly participates in various cultural activities.
